Copywriting, it’s no job for a tea lady
You’re probably wondering why, as designers we’re thinking about copywriting. Well it’s obvious really. There’s not much point in us crafting beautiful, hardworking, responsive design if the copy lets it all down.
But that’s what we’re seeing more and more of these days. Striking work that really supports the brand and looks sensational, alongside copy that looks like it’s been written by the tea lady. (No offence to tea ladies.)
In actual fact, that’s probably not far from the truth. It’s either been written by one of the client team or by a junior account manager at the ad agency who once won an award at school for essay writing. It’s certainly not been anywhere near a professional copywriter. And all for the sake of a couple of hundred quid, if that.
But it’s absolutely vital for the integrity of your brand and the responsiveness of every sales piece you push out that all of your copy is written by a professional copywriter. With expertly written copy, your company will look more professional. The copy will sell your products or services much more strongly. And people will want to buy from you.
Compare that with doing it yourself. It will certainly be cheaper. But people will know and you’ll look both cheap and amateurish.
So here’s an idea. The next design project you need, give it to Samphire Creative and we’ll give it to our copywriter. You’ll be amazed at the difference he can make.
